About Us
We are Atypicats, a collective of educators, researchers, writers, coaches, counsellors and psychotherapists with over 30 years of combined experience in higher education.
Our Story
A-typicats was founded with one clear mission, to create lasting change
Through our work as therapists and coaches, we noticed that many people were coming to us because of workplace cultures that lacked understanding of neurodiversity. These experiences often led to stress, burnout and feelings of exclusion. We knew this could be prevented by helping organisations build greater awareness and supportive systems.
By offering neuroinclusive training and consultancy, we aim to bridge the gap between intention and action, helping leaders, managers and teams learn how to create environments where everyone can thrive.
Many of us received a late diagnosis, having spent years in education and professional life without knowing what we needed to flourish. That experience drives our mission to empower neurodivergent people through education and to equip organisations with the knowledge to support them effectively.
Our background in therapy gives us a deep understanding of mental health and workplace wellbeing. We bring together lived experience, psychological insight and evidence-based research to help create truly inclusive, healthy and productive work and learning environments.
When employees feel supported and understood, their wellbeing, creativity and productivity improve. Research suggest that supporting employee wellbeing leads to higher engagement and better organisational outcomes.
